1 | Cờ đỏ sao vàng
The Vietnamese flag, cờ đỏ sao vàng, consists of a golden star with five points to represent farmers, workers, intellectuals, youth and soldiers. The red background pays tribute to the bloodshed during the wars.
2 | Vietnam
Vietnam has a land area of 329,560 square kilometres and a population of nearly 92 million.
3 | Tết Nguyên Đán
Tết Nguyên Đán (or simply Tết) is the most important festival in Vietnam. It celebrates rebirth, and is an equivalent of the Lunar New Year.
4 | Snake wine
Snake wine, which is made by steeping whole snakes in rice wine for their venom or essence, is commonly drunk for health, vitality and restorative purposes.
5 | Motorbikes
Motorbikes are the most common form of transport in Vietnam. More than a third of the population are registered with a motorbike.
