Denmark has 406 islands and 7314 km of coastline, and ranks number 133 on the list of world countries in terms of size.
2 | Møllehøj
The highest point in the country is only about 170 metres above sea level. Møllehøj (“Mill Hill”) is 9 and 51 cms higher than the second and third highest points, Yding Skovhøj and Ejer Bavnehøj, respectively.
3 | Renewable energy
More than 20 per cent of Denmark’s energy already comes from renewable energy, and the goal is to reach 100 per cent by 2050.
4 | Sustainable society
The Danish cycling culture is another example of a green and sustainable society and Copenhagen alone has around 400 km of cycle paths. About 40 per cent of the capital’s population commute to work by bicycle.
5 | The population
The population of Denmark is 5,627,235. Immigrants and their descendants only constitute about 10 per cent of this number.
